Today was my first visit to Harbor House in Clinton Twp. Overall it was okay. There was hardly anyone there. this place is known for having great seafood except that I am allergic to most of it. They have a good selection of other kinds of food besides seafood. London Broil, Chicken parmasean,Chicken marsalla, and chicken monterey. The ribs were the best. they fell off the bone were delicious, and the barbecue sauce was sweet. If my beverage got low the waitress was prompt in making sure I had a refill. we even were able to get a second order of bread without being charged. The hand painted underwater scenery on the wall was quite impressive to me, but overall I doubt I will be going back any time soon. It is an all you can eat lace and once you finish one dish you can try another, and so on with plenty of choices and an all you can eat salad bar I would recommend it but it is out of my way to go to. they offer alcohol, soda , coffee, and wine as well. the ricing deends on what you order. if you just get the all you can eat meals they are about 20 bucks. if you want prime rib all you can eat or crab legs those are more. everything I mentioned above aside from the crab and prime rib was about 20 dollars. but pricing varies by what you order

First time there and wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy OVERPRICED. Service was horrible but the food was good. I might consider going back simply because of how good the food was. Be prepared however to wait 15 min for a drink.

My experience echoes many of the previous reviews... I got the basic all you can eat so I could try a few things. All you can eat choices are all listed on a "Fresh Catch" board but it is all fried from frozen. Scallops were rubbery, lots of breading on everything. Soup bar was disgusting as both soups had very thick skins on them and there was some obviously reheated mac n cheese next to it. Salad bar was basic but okay. Huge buckets of toppings...like way too big and it would take a week for them to serve the amount of onions they had cut up there. Server was excellent! Gave us a FREE appetizer when we ordered - fried from frozen mushrooms- which were fair. We went for a family lunch and there was only one other table filled during our visit. Owners were there eating at a table in corner as well. The wife was kind of loud and their daughter had been acting as host when we came in- she was dressed totally inappropriately in beach shorts and a tank top. My guess is they could have a nice restaurant here but they mismanage it. Tacky live lobster tank/claw game in entrance- some people may find it offensive. I will not return.

For the price it is good. It beats cooking crab legs at home and you get salad, baked potato, breaded mushrooms, bread basket and a drink for around $50. I have ate at Red Lobster for more money and did not leave full.... Can not say the same about Harbor House.

I've been a fan of the Harbor House for over 15 years. What once was an easy 4-star experience has dwindled to a measly 3-star reward. Why? The concept hasn't changed. The menu is still fairly generous but it pales in comparison to what it used to be. the only beef option is the London Broil which isn't bad but they used to let you order a NY Strip. They also used to have trout and sword fish fillets which were very good but alas they have been retired. The real reason to come here is the crab legs. Snow crab legs to be specific. They used to have AYCE Alaskan King Crab but that too is no longer an option. Why? I inquired about this and the manager claims they never offered that. Yes, you did, it just cost more than the Snow Crab. Here is why the it's only 3-stars. They intentionally slow play you on the AYCE crab. From the time you order to the time you receive your first order of crab is easily 25 minutes. I guess they figure you'll fill up on the soup and salad bar, the fried mushrooms and of course the bread basket. When I come for crab, I only order crab and nothing else, so don't slow play me. Reorders come a little faster which begs the question of why the first order doesn't arrive faster. We've noticed this has been a trend over the last few years and because of this we have taken our crab eating dollars to the MGM Casino or Motor City.

We stopped in here during a pub crawl. The place in nice and the service is friendly. (even when stopping in with 30 other folks) They had a nice selection of beers and wine. We didn't eat much but my husband and I did get soup. I had the chowder and he got a gumbo. My chowder was creamy and delicious. It wasn't overly fishy which is something that bothers me at other places. Nice, warm, and rich. My husbands gumbo was beautiful. I tasted it and wished I had ordered a second bowl of soup. He gobbled it down quick! Great starters, nice atmosphere.

Pretty delicious. Not the classiest place but that isn't what you should expect eating here. All you can eat is good. Salad bar is good. Sometimes they also have chicken wings and mac and cheese at the salad bar, which my husband and I like. Their soups are generally good. Typically they only allow one free refill on pop, which I think is dumb. I like unlimited refills like a lot of other restaurants offer. However, some waitresses don't follow that rule. We like and we will continue to eat there.

Lots of dinner possibilities, all-you-can-eats, dinner combos. As their name suggests, they have various surf-n-turf offerings, fish and chips, shrimp, scallops, etc. I happened upon their coupons in the Entertainment Book and thought I would give them a try. There were 5 family members in our dining party. The restaurant had just a couple other tables occupied when we arrived, but it was also when they 1st opened for the day. As you enter, there is an aquarium off to the right of the entrance and apparently you can select the lobster(s) for your meal. They kind of all look alike to me, and honestly, I'm glad they don't have an aquarium with their fish offerings, or a bunch of cows standing out back, waiting for me to select a steak or two for my meal (grin!) Inside, there is plenty of room and the walls are decorated with ocean side themes. Very nice. During my visit, I happened upon the men's rest room and found it to be impeccable. They have some pretty good combos and specials on their regular menu. Lots of choices, I opted for a single order Ribeye steak dinner, with baked potato. Others enjoyed London Broil single order and another London Broil all-you-can-eat, and a single order New York Strip steak. The little guy had fish, with a side of mac-n-cheese. The service was adequate, nothing stellar (I still left a healthy tip). A complimentary bread basket was delivered, and a surprise order of breaded mushrooms also made it's way to our table, complimentary of course. Both were very good. I can't say the Ribeye I received was the best cut I have ever had. It did the job. My baked potato was delivered with real butter, as requested. I went to the soup and salad bar to pick out a salad or a soup. The jambalaya stole my heart and I must say, it was most excellent!!! I might go back there just for the jambalaya alone, it was that good! All in all, a solid 4 stars out of 5, leaning higher. The Entertainment coupon I used was $10 off an order of $40 or more, and I was able to use it directly from their android phone app. Even without the coupons available, I found their prices to be very affordable. I'll have to stop back again and try out their other offerings of fish.

One doesn't go to the Harbor House expecting a five-star meal. It's a seafood buffet located in an outdated building on the Eastside. It's a novelty. You go there when you want to disrespect your body with a plethora of deep fried, buttery, salty food and an assortment of all-you-can-eat shellfish that's going to make you even more repulsive than you already are. With each bite you can literally feel your cholesterol grow higher and higher. Want an alternative to fried shrimp? They'll boil them -- but in a vat of butter and grease. Want some mushrooms? Well, they're going to coat them in breading then deep fry 'em. You cool with that? Oh look, a salad bar filled with Iceburg lettuce! Pour some ranch dressing all over that and don't you dare miss a spot. As you can surmise, this place is terrible. But it's a good kind of terrible, in much of the same way a circus or a NASCAR race is terrible. They even have one of the most absurd games right up front. It's a claw machine stocked with live lobsters. This game brings me so much joy. It's sick. It's inhumane. And it's soooo much fun. My two friends and I spent $40 total and caught six lobsters from the tank. Stuffed animals don't squirm. But live lobsters do, especially when they are being suspended above water by a red plastic claw. We each ate one lobster, and then freed the others into a nearby field, where we assume they were able to start their new lobster lives free of claw machines. The lobster was solid. It was even better since we caught it ourselves. We are some rugged-ass fishermen.

My rating should be in two parts. The regular "all you can eat" menu was fantastic! 5 stars! Their fried shrimp is crispy, juicy, tasty. The london broil is to die for! The mushrooms at the table and the salad bar is good for a place you don't want to get full on something other than your main course. Now for the bad part - If I could give 0 stars I would. I went there wanting crab legs. It was a Monday so they were on sale for additional $11. Regularly they are $18 more. They were AWFUL!! I mean really awful. They were totally water logged. Very mushy and absolutely no flavor. No good, no bad, no fishy, no salty, nothing. No flavor at all. We should have sent them back. But I was there with a friend and didn't want to make a scene. But thinking about it now, for the money they were, I should have said something. Go for the regular "all you can eat" menu, it is wonderful. Stay away from the crab legs.

This place actually reminds me a little of one of my childhood favorites growing up on the east coast, a chain called Chesapeake Bay Seafood House. Yes, you can get a single order of something...but that's not why you come here. You come here to pay $39.99 to get access to the entire All You Can Eat menu and go nuts. The $39.99 is the top of the food chain here, crab legs. Once you order these, you can get as much as you want of anything else on the menu. Shrimp. Scallops. Chicken marsala. Pork chops, either barbecued or breaded and smothered. And a whole host of other options as well. Now, I dinged them one star for one simple reason - they advertise and heavily promote alaskan crab legs...but they're not alaskan KING crab legs. And let's be honest, they know that's what people think when they see "Alaskan Crab Legs", and so they know that's a draw...but all things being equal, the crab legs they do have and serve are well prepared, sweet, and I'm pretty sure I hurt myself with my third plate of them after sampling some of the other options and wanting to go back for more crab legs. Drink prices are reasonable...though the beer selection isn't really all that great. If they brought in a few local microbrews, it would really be a spot that I'd want to go back to more often...but what they have doesn't suck, so it's passable. All in all, I'll definitely be going back. Some day. Because I'm still full from the other night...

In general this was a good dinner. Took my husband last night for his birthday as he enjoys crab legs. We have been to the downtown location a couple times and I must say that this location is just tons better. The comments to reviewers by the manager at the other location is what drove us to trying this one. Couple issues to discuss, to begin with we are uncertain the lobster addition was actually Maine Lobster.. It was sadly overcooked and this is what may have ruined the flavor. Other issue was the baked potato came out like a rock from being overcooked as well. The salad bar was clean and well stocked. Service was quick and friendly, which when mixed with the overall calmness made for a pleasant dinning experience...we shall return.

I actually love this place. I will have to say that, on occasion, the service/food is a tad subpar, but overall I really like it. It's pricey, but you're getting real food, not garbage buffet-line-steamer-tray food. The salad bar is pretty good, and the quality of the food is good. I'm a HUGE fan of the chicken parmesan, the fried catfish, the london broil and the fried chicken. Definitely check it out if you're looking for LOTS of food.

First time here and I'm already in love. Well for one, upon coming into the parking lot, there were so many cars that we were expecting it to be packed. But the restaurant is so big and everything is so spread out that it didn't seem busy at all! For starters, I recommend coming on Mondays because it's their 'Crab Mondays'. Instead of being the occational $40 for all you can eat crab legs (including everything else on the menu), it was 8$ off, so $32 for each person. GREAT DEAL!! Service was great. Our waitress was quick. The crab legs were delicious and the best part is that they bring it to you. :) I would suggest that if you were to do the all you can eat, as soon as they bring out your plate, ask them to prepare the next plate immediately since it can take some time. The soup/salad bar had 3 soups to choose from as well as mac&cheese and hot wings. Try not to eat to much of it since you want to save your appetite! My boyfriend and I went here for our 4 year aniversary and liked it so much we want to make it a tradition to come back every year (that is if we don't find our way back before then). Overall, I am extremely impressed and satisfied. I can proudly say, I definitely fell into a crab coma upon finishing dinner.

First time eating here after years of driving by, because they never look busy! It took a $10 gift card to get me in the door... The food on the other hand is priced a little high, but what do you expect when they offer all you can eat crab legs, sirloin, white fish and many other options. I will be back, think it would be a nice place for a date. But make sure your dates gonna eat or you'll be taking some home.

Iv lived near this place for 31 years and for some reason never went in. Today I did with my parents. It was fantastic for what it is. It's make to order all you can eat, you can't expect 5 star food, I was impressed though. I can see how it would take some time to get your order if it's packed so I suggest for those who have that as a complaint to go about 4-4:30pm. Great food, service, and very nice inside. I would recommend going.

The waitstaff was pleasant, the food was out of this world wonderful ... and the shrimp, omg... they even cleaned out the poop-track on their shrimp. The pics of the food below are are accurate. They give nice size portions and their salad bar was "clean", too. Mom loved the baked mac & cheese, and they don't have the cheap yucky olives. They have the nice ones. The parking lot is set up real nice and it was clean, too! For my mother to be impressed, it's an impressive place! She is looking forward to going back, again too.

I was contemplating for over a year to give Harbor house a try. The seemingly empty parking lot always detoured me. One night my husband and I decided to give it a try. OMG we were both satisfied with our choice. The seafood chowder is Amazing!! The place does need updating, but once you taste the delicious food you'll forget about that.

Food was real good but service was not good. Manager or owner sits at bar and didn't do much. Bar was dirty and he didn't even wipe it down with cleaner. It could use some bleach even.
